Keyword Search Tips

Use Quotes " " for EXACT PHRASE matching

Quotes searches for exact phrases.
EXAMPLE: "Java Programmer" would find only records that contained Java followed immediately by programmer. It would not find Programmer Java. Without the quotes you would enter Java and programmer to find records that included the word Java and the word programmer anywhere in the field.

Using AND, and, &

Finds records containing both terms.
EXAMPLE: Java AND Programmer finds records containing both Java and Programmer, but the terms do not have to be adjacent.

Using OR, or

Finds records containing one term or the other.
EXAMPLE: Java OR Programmer finds records that contain Java, Programmer, or both.

Use parentheses ( ) to treat terms as a group

EXAMPLE:(Java OR Oracle) AND Programmer is the same as (Java AND Programmer) OR (Oracle AND Programmer).

Using NOT, not

Excludes records containing the subsequent word or phrase.
EXAMPLE: Manager AND NOT Management finds records containing Manager, but if the record also contained Management, it will be ignored.

Use star * and parentheses around a term to retrun records containing partial terms.

EXAMPLE: "Prog*" finds records containing programmer, programming, program, progress, etc.
