The Team:
A career on the Esri Professional Services and Consulting team provides you the opportunity to collaborate with our customers to support innovative database and applications development, SOA, and enterprise software solutions. The variety of project work enables you to use your software development, database engineering, GIS expertise, and project management skills in a number of growing markets such as natural resources, commercial, government, utilities, and defense. Most positions are based at our headquarters in Redlands, California and our regional office in Washington, D.C.; however, opportunities are also available in other locations.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement customized systems and solutions for clients using our ArcGIS suite of software including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcSDE, and/or ArcIMS and extensions.
Work closely with project managers, consultants, account managers, marketing staff, U.S. Government clients, and other contractors to analyze problems, define requirements, and develop solutions.
Provide technical consulting and support to customers.
Document all work performed at client sites for future reference.
Skills
-
Bachelors or masters in computer science, engineering, GIS, or a related field.
Experience working in an applications development environment including expertise in Java, .NET, Flex, JavaScript, and/or Silverlight (years of experience commensurate with position level: senior, 11+; mid-level, 4-10; and junior, less than three).
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other RDBMS.
Willingness to travel domestically, primarily within region.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
U.S. citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.Recommended Qualifications
Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcSDE, and/or ArcIMS.
Experience with component-based architectures, OO, COM, and/or SOA.
Experience with other industry-standard technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, Web services, application servers, and/or Web servers.
Data modeling and UML experience.
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS.
Previous technical leadership of a project development team.
Experience with software estimating, planning, and progress tracking.
