Summary

The Simulation Mission Analyst supports Planning Operations as a member of the Collection Planning Department’s Engineering team.  In this capacity the Simulation Mission Analyst will be the main point of contact for collection simulations and associated analyses.

The Simulation Mission Analyst will be responsible for improving mission awareness across the DigitalGlobe Corporation. This will entail developing, utilizing, and promoting simulation capabilities to support the Collection Planning Mission Awareness vision which includes but is not limited to:

• Short term and long term strategic feasibility

• Development of an operational satellite and ground capacity model in support of current and predicted loads

• Tasking load and efficiency analysis

• Weather and improvement yield analysis

• Orbit analysis to include Mean Time To Access

• Mission analysis tool development

As a member of the Mission Analysis team, the Simulation Mission Analyst will work closely with the Operations Engineering, Planning, and Business teams within the Collection Planning Department as well as support DigitalGlobe groups external to Collection Planning.  This will include interaction and collaboration with Sales and Marketing personnel, other Operations groups, as well as spacecraft engineering teams.

The Simulation Mission Analyst will be responsible for supporting Operational processes, throughput analysis, revenue forecasting, capability trade analysis, and overall business performance analysis.  The Simulation Mission Analyst will be responsible for operating and maintaining the suite of Collection Planning Simulation tools as well as validating their accuracy.

 

Responsibilities

• Operate simulation tools to produce requested analyses

• Maintain inputs for CP simulation tools to ensure accurate predictions

• Conduct analysis and presentation of imaging system performance

• Design and implement satellite capacity models for satellite capacity analysis

• Establish relationships with operational personnel, business analysts, marketing teams, system engineers

• Work with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Spacecraft Engineers, System Engineering to:

• Implement, identify, analyze, communicate and present

• Administers simulation tools deployments and user access

• Develops and monitors simulation validation metrics

Requirements

Professional Simulation and/or Mission Analysis experience or advanced technical degree

Remote Sensing Simulation experience

US Citizenship

Current hold or ability to obtain US Government clearance (TS/SCI)

Skills

• Skills and Experience

  Experience with MATLAB, STK (Pro, Connect), ESRI ArcGIS

  Experience with scripting languages and automated data analysis and transformation

  Excellent written and verbal skills required

  Strong Technical presentation skills

  Previous experience in electro-optical mission management desired
